Fayyoum security bodies arrested two terrorist elements for planning to bomb power transformers after an exchange of fire in the early hours of Monday.
Fayyoum Security Director General Shafei Hassan said a guard and one terrorist were injured in the shooting that took place in Atsa township of Fayyoum.
The injured were moved to hospital and the prosecution was notified to launch a probe.
Meanwhile, supply security apparatus in Daqahliya arrested a director of a fuel station for illegal purchase of the fuel quotas.
