Two members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) were held in Assiut with arms and anti-police and -army banners on them.
Those arrested were identified as Moataz Safwat Mahran, 21, a student, and Mohamad Antar Mostafa, 22, an electrician.
An initial probe showed they were using the banners and arms in demonstrations of the banned group.
The prosecution was informed to investigate.
