One terrorist has been killed in an exchange of fire with the army in Sheikh Zuwaid, the military spokesman said Saturday.
Troops deployed at a checkpoint in Arish also shot dead a driver who attempted to escape, Mohamed Samir said in a statement.
Troops also foiled an attempt by three Palestinians to infiltrate into Rafah in Egypt Friday, Samir added.
Thirty suspects were arrested in security campaigns in Sinai, Samir said.
Meanwhile, two mortar shells fell behind the religious institute in Sedoud area, the spokesman said, adding no casualties were reported.
