Two policemen came under a fire attack by unidentified gunmen while heading for their work in Fayyum governorate on Friday.
Sergeant Mahmoud Rageb sustained wounds to the chest and abdomen and was taken to the Police Hospital in Agouza district of Giza. His condition is critical.
Rabei Ahmed Mohamed, a non-commissioned officer, was ambulanced to a nearby hospital. He sustained wounds to the feet.
Meanwhile, sappers combed the area in the precincts of Robi police station in the governorate after a makeshift bomb went off.
No casualties or damage were reported.
