2 workers at Saudi’s Aramco die of injuries from plant fire

Saudi Arabia's Aramco oil company announced on its Twitter that two of its workers died of injuries sustained in a fire that broke out at a the oil facility

Saudi Aramco said on Thursday that two workers died of injuries sustained in a fire that broke out at its Wasea crude oil plant in central Saudi Arabia.

Aramco’s President and Chief Executive Officer Amin Al Nasser expressed condolences to the victims’ families and wished speedy recovery for the injured. 

The state oil firm said late on Wednesday that the blaze was put out and did not affect operations.

In September, a fire that broke out at Aramco’s Ras Tanura oil terminal injured eight workers. 

The company is at the heart of Saudi Arabia’s wide-ranging Vision 2030 plan to wean the economy of the world’s biggest petroleum exporter off oil.
