As many as 20 rioters of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group were arrested in Minya towns on Friday, the province's security chief Osama Metwally said.
The MB members were arrested when security forces dispersed some protests staged by the group.
The protesters chanted anti-state slogans and threw stones and fireworks at police vehicles and residents.
