Some 21 firefighter, rescue and ambulance teams worked on containing the fire that broke out early Thursday in Jazan hospital in southwestern the kingdom.

Around 25 people were killed and 107 others wounded in the fire, according to Al Arabiya news channel which quoted the Civil Defense Directorate spokesman.

The fire broke out at 2:00 a.m. today on the first floor of the hospital that houses the intensive care department and nursery and maternity ward.

Reason behind the fire has not been immediately known.
