As many as 21 polling stations in Damanhour in Behira city witnessed a half-hour delay in opening at 9:00 am.

The results of parliamentary polls in the first constituency, which includes Bandar Damanhour and Damanhour, was ruled invalid by Alexandria administrative court after a candidate competing in the poll was found to be ineligible to run.

Mabrouk Zeitar was enlisted in the candidates' list despite facing a five-year sentence over charges of attempted murder and possession of firearms.
