Security forces on Monday killed 22 takfiri elements who attempted to carry out attacks against security checkpoints and premises in north Sinai.

Security sources said the operation is part of the successful preemptive attacks of the Armed Forces against takfiri elements.

Army forces detected four elements riding a vehicle on their way to Karm al Qawadeis checkpoint in south Sheikh Zuweid.

Also, two takfiri elements were riding a motorbike near a checkpoint in south Sheikh Zeweid. Security forces opened fire at them and killed them on spot.

Security forces also attacked 16 persons, who gathered in front of a mosque in south Sheikh Zuweid, while planning to attack security premises. The forces opened fire at once and left them killed.
