A Sohag prosecution ordered 28 suspects to be remanded in custody for four days pending investigations into a fight with firearms.
The fight was reportedly triggered by a verbal harassment of a girl.
The suspects are accused of battling with firearms and petrol bombs in a village in ElBelina township.
Houses and shops were damaged in the violence.
