Libya via Salloum crossing

As many as 283 Egyptians have returned home from Libya via Salloum crossing along the border between Egypt and Libya over the past 24 hours, Matrouh security chief Anani Hamouda said Saturday.

He further said that 120 of the returnees had traveled illegally to Libya.

The security official ordered the arrival measures of the returnees to be swiftly finalized.

Libya has been witnessing a rising insurgency by different rebel groups and militias, increasing the use of weapons since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011.

The attacks included killing and injures of Egyptians working there across different parts of the country.
