Security forces arrested 297 members of Muslim Brotherhood and rioters in 15 governorates over charges of attacking police facilities and instigating violence.
The arrests come upon warrants by the prosecution, Assistant Interior Minister Sayed Shafiq told MENA.
The arrests took place in governorates of Alexandria, Cairo, Minya, Giza, Qalubya, Fayyoum, Aswan, Beheira, Menoufia, Sharqiya, North Sinai, Dakahlia, Assiut, Dameitta and Qena, he added.
