Three buildings near a deadly explosion that hit a residential area in Giza governorate will be evacuated over safety reasons, Deputy Governor Alaa Harras said Thursday.

The blast, which occurred during a police raid on a terrorist hideout in Haram Street in Mariyotiya, left six people, including three policemen, dead and 13 others wounded.

Earlier in the day, security agencies acted upon a tip-off that a number of terrorists were hiding in an apartment in Libini Street in Mariyotiya.

Taking all needed security measures, security forces raided the apartment and found several explosive devices there.

While inspecting the explosive devices, one of them went off, causing a number of casualties.
