Three National Guard agents were killed overnight Sunday by armed militants in two incidents in Midwest Tunisia.

Two National Guard agents were killed in an exchange of fire with terrorist militants at the Bir Lahfey checkpoint, and the other was shot dead on his way to work in Sidi Bouzid, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

One militant was killed and another was severely injured in the clashes at Bir Lahfey, the statement said.
