Twenty-seven French tourists and seven Egyptians were rescued on Thursday after their boat sank off the coast of a resort in Marsa Alam city in the Red Sea province, southeastern Egypt.

Nearby tourist boats rescued the tourists and the Egyptians when the boat carrying them hit coral reefs and sank off the Abu Dabab area, security sources said.

No casualties were reported.
