At least eight persons were killed while 27 others injured when a car bomb went off on a bridge in the northern part of the Iraqi capital on Tuesday. According to a security source, the car targeted a police checkpoint leaving number of people killed and injured, including police officers. The wounded were rushed to the hospital while the dead bodies moved to the morgue, the source said. Earlier, Baghdad witnessed killing of more than twenty Iraqi security elements and civilians in a grenade and machine gun attack against a military convoy.
