The Lebanese Red Cross said that 39 people were injured in clashes between security and protesters over the garbage crisis in central Beirut.

The injured were taken to hospitals.

The injuries were not dangerous and included suffocations and slight wounds, Secretary General of the Lebanese Red Cross George Kettaneh said in a press statement Friday.
