Four Jordanian gendarmeries were injured when unidentified men opened fire on their vehicle in Mafraq Governorate, north-east of Amman, a security source said.
The source added that the suspects fled the scene after shooting the gendarmeries in their legs.
A manhunt was launched for the assailants.
