The Baghdad Operation Command has announced that four militants were killed during a wide-scale security operation in the vicinity of Baghdad.
Iraqi forces also managed to defuse 156 explosive charges, a statement said Friday.
The forces seized weapons and ammunition during the operation, added the statement.
Violence in Iraq has reached a level not seen since 2008, when it was emerging from a brutal period of sectarian killings that claimed tens of thousands of lives.
