Luxor prosecutors ordered on Friday remanding four police officers into custody for four days pending investigations on charges of torturing a person to death.

An arrest warrant was issued for five other non-commissioned officers on the same charge.

A report of the forensic medicine department said that detainee Talaat Shebib breathed his last at a Luxor police station after his spinal cord was cut due to torture.
