As many as 417 Egyptians returned home from Libya over the past 24 hours via Salloum border crossing, according to Matrouh security chief Major General Hisham Lotfy.

Out of the 417, 337 Egyptians entered and left Libya with valid papers while the rest illegally entered the North African nation.

Egypt exerts utmost efforts to control its border with war-torn Libya to prevent smuggling and illegal migration, he added in press statements.
