Saudi security bodies arrested during the past 10 days 45 people on suspicion of attempting to join Daesh terrorist group, Al Jazirah newspaper reported on Friday.

About 40 out of the 45 defendants are Saudis, the Saudi paper quoted sources who declined to be named as saying.

Up to 1,740 Daesh suspects of 20 different nationalities are held in custody pending further investigations, the paper added.
