Egyptian Military Spokesman Ahmed Mohammed Ali said 45 terrorists were killed during army campaigns in North Sinai over the past eight days.
In a statement released on Sunday, Samir said the campaigns were carried out in Arish, Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah in which 18 wanted elements and 79 suspects were arrested.
The campaigns resulted in destroying 15 terrorist hotbeds, 18 vehicles and 53 motorbikes used for carrying out attacks against police and army elements.
An explosive charge, that was planted by the terrorist groups, was detonated by army fire during the campaigns.
