Egyptians return home from Libya

A total of 458 Egyptians returned home coming from Libya via Salloum border crossing over the past 24 hours, according to Matrouh Security Chief Hisham Lotfy.

As many as 342 of them returned legally, while 116 Egyptians came back illegally, Lotfy said in statements on Thursday.

The security official ordered the arrival measures of the returnees to be swiftly finalized.

Libya has been witnessing a rising insurgency by different rebel groups and militias and an increasing use of weapons since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011.

The attacks included the killing and injury of Egyptians working there across different parts of the country.
