A total of 498 Egyptians have returned home from Libya via Salloum border crossing over the past 24 hours, according to Matrouh Security Chief Hisham Lotfy.
Of all 498 Egyptians, 105 Egyptians had illegally entered Libya, Lotfy said in statements on Friday.
The security official ordered that arrival procedures the returnees be swiftly finalized.
Libya has been witnessing a rising insurgency by different rebel groups and militias and an increasing use of weapons since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011.
