Five injured have been recovered from the six-storey building which collapsed in Sharqia's town of Minya El Qamh, the governorate's Security Chief, Major General Hassan Seif, said Monday night.

Efforts are underway in search for others, he added in statements.

Seif said that the building consisted of 10 housing units, eight of them were inhabited.

We have no information on how many people were inside the collapsed building, he added.

Civil defense forces, fire trucks and ambulances were rushed to the scene. Efforts to dug victims out of rubble were still underway.
