Five policemen were killed Sunday when a booby-trapped car exploded near an Arish police station, a security source at Interior Ministry said.

Efforts are underway to count the number of the injured in the explosion, the source told MENA on Sunday.

A pick-up truck, laden with straw, stormed one of the security checkpoints in Police Station 3 in Arish, added the source.

The source further said that security sources dealt with the driver of the truck but it exploded and led to the fall of victims.
