Five Saudi army personnel were killed on the border with Yemen, said a statement by the Saudi Joint Forces Command.

The soldiers were killed during clashes with Houthis militants and rebels loyal to former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh, the statement said on Sunday.

The southern border of Saudi Arabia has been witnessing clashes from time to time between the Saudi Border Guards forces and Houthi rebels and militias loyal to Saleh.
