Sohag Criminal Court sentenced on Tuesday five defendants to death and three others to life in prison over the killing of five people in vendetta.
Five of the defendants were tried in absentia.
The incident took place in September of last year when security bodies received a complaint that five people from a village in Sohag governorate were shot dead.
Security forces moved to the place where it was revealed that revenge feud was behind the killings.
Eight suspects were identified, of whom four were arrested while the others are still runaway.
