Six middle-ranking leaders of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group were arrested as part of intensive security measures to nab terror elements and restore order and security across the nation, said the Interior Ministry on Thursday.

The arrests were made over their involvement in attacks against public and private institutions and violence incitement across Egypt.

In a related context, the security bodies rounded up 16 members of quality operations committees affiliated to the MB terrorist group in a number of governorates.

Ten extremists were also nabbed in the security campaigns nationwide.

All legal procedures were taken against the terror elements and the prosecution was notified to launch a probe.
