Seven people were killed and at least ten others woundedduring clashes that broke out Monday at the Palestinian refugee camp of MiehMiehin Lebanon’s southern port city of Sidon.A security source confirmed the death toll, pointing out that the clashes started asan individual dispute ten days ago.The source said that the armed clashes erupted between supporters of “AnsarUllah”group and others of Fatah movement, reported Xinhua news agency.But according to the National News Agency, Munir al-Maqdah, Fatah militarycommander of Ain El-Heloue, the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, saidthat various factions at the camp tried to ease the tensions caused by the individualdispute, but they failed.He added that the Palestinian factions, in coordination with the army, are workingon resolving the dispute. The clash saw the use of medium and heavy machine-gunsand rocket-propelled grenades.The army has since taken strict security measures around the camp in order toprevent escalation.
