As many as eight supporters of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group were remanded in custody for 15 days pending investigation over provoking riots in Gharbiya Governorate, northern Egypt.
The arrestees face charges of instigating violence and belonging to an outlawed group.
In December 2013, an Egyptian court labelled the MB group a terrorist organization, blaming it for a string of attacks in the country and banning all its activities nationwide.
