Eight takfiri elements were killed and nine terror suspects arrested in a campaign in Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah cities of North Sinai, a security source said on Tuesday.

Twenty-two terror hideouts were destroyed, and four unlicensed cars and 15 unlicensed motorbikes seized, the source added.

The campaign is part of the security bodies' plan to clear the peninsula of extremist groups.
