The Israeli authorities allowed on Monday hundreds of Gazans to enter Jerusalem so as to celebrate Laylat al Qadr in al Aqsa Mosque for the first time since years.

Around 800 Palestinians departed Gaza to perform prayers and celebrate Laylat al Qadr.

They entered the mosque via Erez crossing.

The Gazans are expected to return to the enclave on Tuesday, according to Palestinian sources.
