Eighty-eight Daesh militants were killed in military operations launched by the Iraqi forces in Salaheddin and Anbar provinces, military sources said on Sunday.

Seventy-three out of 88 Daesh fighters were killed in violent clashes with Iraqi security forces after they tried to attack Ajil oil field in northern Tikrit city of Salahuddin province, Commander of Tigris Operations Command General Abdul Ameer al Zaydi said.

Three Iraqi troops were slain and 13 injured in the confrontations, he added.

Also, the Iraqi security forces, backed by Al Hashd Al Shaabi militias demolished 37 Daesh vehicles in the region.

The remaining 15 Daesh fighters were killed in airstrikes staged by the Iraqi warplanes on Daesh positions in western Ramadi District in Anbar province, according to Maj. Gen. Mohammed Khalaf Saeed, Acting Head of Anbar Operations Command.
