As many as 88 people were killed Friday in Syrian regime airstrikes and clashes that erupted between the Syrian army and opposition factions nationwide, a human rights group said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 32 army personnel and loyal militias were among the casualties.

Twenty clinicians were killed after shells targeted some areas in Aleppo, along with 36 militants of al Nusra Front, Daesh and other non-Syrian Islamists, the London-based group added.

The Syrian army also continued striking areas in Ghouta and Hama with barrel bombs.

No casualties were reported as a result of the shelling, though.

Meantime, clashes renewed between Islamist factions and Syria regime forces, claiming many lives from the two sides.
