Damietta customs authorities on Saturday seized two containers coming from Lebanon with 8.8 million drug tablets inside.

The authorities acted upon a tip-off from anti-narcotic department that an import and export company planned to bring in amounts of drugs, a customs official source said.

A committee was formed that searched the containers and found Captagon tablets hidden inside the containers.

The prosecution was notified for investigations.
