Nine people were killed and several others wounded in a number of accidents in areas in Upper Egypt during the past hours.

A security source said two were killed when a tractor overturned in Sohag, while four others were killed and seven others wounded in a collision between a bus and a lorry in Minya.

Two more were killed in road accidents and one committed suicide in Minya.
