Matrouh Security Director General Al Anani Hamouda said as many as 964 Egyptians returned home from Libya via Salloum border crossing over the past 24 hours.
In statements on Tuesday, General Hamouda said he ordered travel measures to be finalized as soon as possible.
He said as many as 266 of the returnees have illegally traveled to Libya.
