Ramallah - Arab Today
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asserted the importance of garnering the support of international and Arab communities for the French-brokered peace initiative with a view to having an independent Palestinian state with al Quds as its capital.
Abbas made the remarks during his meeting with leaders of the Jordanian National Union party and a number of former Jordanian MPs, currently visiting Palestine.
During the meeting, the Jordanian politicians were briefed on the latest Palestinian developments and efforts exerted to hold the international peace conference, in accordance with the French peace initiative to rescue the political course in the middle eastern country.
The Jordanian delegation members, for their part, underscored Jordan's continued support for the Palestinian Cause.
They also praised the progress achieved in the Palestinian territories despite obstacles being created by occupation authorities.
