Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas urged Wednesday international parliaments to recognize the Palestinian state.

During a meeting in Amman with a delegation of the Middle East committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union General Assembly, the Palestinian President reviewed the current situation in the Arab region and the efforts exerted by the Palestinian Authority to hold an international peace conference, Wafa News Agency reported.

For its part, the delegation members stressed they will support the Palestinian efforts at the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union General Assembly, to be held in Zambia next March.
