Giza Criminal Court will give its ruling in the illicit gains case against former interior minister Habib el Adly on Thursday.
Adly faces charges of obtaining 181 million pounds in illegal gains.
The former minister's lawyer asked for a statement of defense to be introduced over "new evidence to change the course of the trial."
The Illegal Gains Authority accused Adly of exploiting his position as head of state security police and interior minister in achieving 181,163.358 pounds in addition to 503,000 pound sterling and failed to prove the source of that money.
