Head of the Administrative Prosecution Counselor Sameh Kamal ordered an immediate investigation into the deaths of 15 people on board a ferryboat that sank on Thursday night in Kafr El Sheikh governorate.
Investigations come to determine whether
negligence of officials at river control administration were the reason behind the sinking of the ferryboat, said official spokesman for the Administrative Prosecution Mohamed Samir.
On Thursday, a ferryboat carrying 17 people sank in the Nile River in Kafr el Sheikh, leaving 15 dead, while two were rescued.
The ferry was transferring people between two towns in Kafr el Sheikh and Behaira governorates when the accident occurred.
