Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, the chairman of the African Union, opened the 25th AU ordinary session in South Africa on Sunday.

Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab is attending the event on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

Delegations of 54 African countries and representatives of international and regional organizations are present at the summit.
