Agriculture Minister Essam Fayed has said that his Ministry is adopting a strategy to achieve sustainable agricultural development.

The strategy is based on innovation and knowledge, said Fayed, adding that it aims to help create a new agricultural environment and to maximize the use of agricultural resources.

He also talked about development programs and institutional and policy reforms as part of that strategy.

The strategy is meant to upgrade the use of field irrigation from 50 percent to 75 percent in order to solve the reduction in agricultural swaths, the minister added.
