Security authorities at Cairo International Airport aborted an attempt to smuggle around five kilograms of cocaine.

Director of Airport Security Assistant Interior Minister Tarek Fathi received information on the attempt of an international gang from Peru to smuggle a large quantity of cocaine and raw cocaine to Egypt.

He ordered following up the case in coordination with the anti-drugs department and seized the smuggled quantities as they reached the country.
