Al Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb received Thursday Chinese Ambassador here Song Aiguo.

During the meeting, el Tayyeb said that Al Azhar looks forward to spreading the values of peace, tolerance, justice, freedom and co-existence as well as preserving the stability of the homeland.

For his part, the Chinese diplomat greeted el Tayyeb on the advent of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, stressing that his country pays attention to the Chinese people regardless of their religions.

He further said that the Chinese government allows Muslims to perform their rituals freely.
