Cairo - MENA
The Arab League is contacting member states to set a date for a meeting of foreign and defence ministers to ratify a protocol to form a joint Arab military force, MENA learned.
The AL has sent memos to Arab states suggesting that the meeting be held in Cairo on July 29, diplomatic sources told MENA, adding that the pan-Arab body is yet to receive replies.
Arab army chiefs-of-staff had met twice to discuss a draft protocol for the formation of the joint military force, as was decided during an AL summit in March.
