Algeria has strongly condemned the death of Egypt's Prosecutor General Hesham Barakat who died of wounds he sustained in a terrorist attack on his convoy in Heliopolis.

Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Abdel Aziz Bin Ali Al Sherif denounced the bloody attack which took place in a populated area in Cairo.

The spokesman offered condolences to the Egyptian government and judiciary, denouncing his country's rejection of all forms of terrorism.
