Algeria welcomed the positive outcome of the negotiations that has been announced in Switzerland's Lausanne between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the "Group of 5 + 1" on the Iranian nuclear programme.
The official Algerian news agency (APS) quoted the Algerian Foreign Ministry spokesman as saying that the negotiating sides which pursued the job with good will in pursuance of preserving the regional and international peace and security are hereby congratulated.
‘Invitation to join the nuclear disarmament, prohibition of development of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), and calling on every side of the disputes to respect the international laws, the human rights, and the legitimacy of independent countries is in line with comprehensive development and advancement of the world nations,’ the spokesman said.
Expressing delight over the achieved progress in the nuclear talks between Iran and the western Sextet, the spokesman of the Algerian Foreign Ministry expressed hope that sponsoring a conference in the New York on establishment of a Nuclear Weapons Free Middle East Zone headed by Algeria will be a further step in that direction.
Iran and world powers reached an outline accord that keeps them on track to end a decade-long nuclear dispute, allowing three more months to nail down differences and reach a final settlement.
